EIGHT people were taken to hospital following an early morning fire at a building in Bray, Co Wicklow, on Monday 10th March 2025. The residents are receiving treatment in hospital for smoke inhalation.
The alarm was raised at around 5am after the fire broke out in one of the upstairs apartments of the building on the Lower Dargle Road.
One resident said there are 15 apartments in the building - six on the ground floor and nine upstairs.
Thankfully the Fire Doors in the Apartment blocks helped to keep the fire at bay until local Fire Tenders arrived to evacuate those residents stuck inside the building. Two men were rescued from a first floor balcony with the Fire Brigades ladder.
This is another reminder of the need to make sure that your Fire Doors are checked regularly for compliance.
